Claudia Kritz

Welcome to Claudia Kritz, Ph.D. Psychologist

All of us feel the need to talk to someone at some point in our lives. Usually, it is friends or relatives who we turn to, but sometimes things feel more urgent, and we realize we need some help to understand the problems we are facing. Life's troubles can become an ordeal. When people feel unsupported, they can get stuck, feel anxious, depressed, or isolated. It gets difficult to navigate life when you feel that things can't improve.

My psychodynamic-humanistic model of therapy values each person as a whole human being, combining insights from biology, psychology, and the social world to help people reach awareness in the here and now and recognize the importance of past experience on present functioning. I use an in-depth insight and awareness style of therapy with a focus on the therapeutic alliance built between client and therapist. A good therapeutic alliance creates a healing space in which people can free up their energy to make the conditions for change.

Clients are able to discover and broaden the strengths and abilities within themselves to manage early childhood dysfunction that might include neglect or abuse, in order to overcome depression and anxiety or find the keys to relationship success, work satisfaction, yearnings for creativity, and general life fulfillment.

If you feel that you are living a ‘rough draft’ or version of your life that you don’t feel is where you want to be, held back by mood or behavioral issues, and haven’t found the meaningful relationships or career you always hoped for, please call for a free consultation.
